Aspire is a partnership of long-standing third-sector organisations working in the community in South Leeds. Some partners also work across the city, and beyond. Our common aim is to provide opportunities for local people and communities to develop and grow in prosperity, skills, health and knowledge. We support the people we work with to achieve success and discover their full potential.
For over 25 years, Aspire to Succeed partners have worked separately and together to attract over £10,000,000 of inward investment in commissions and funding to improve the lives and prospects of local people. Joint projects include community health and wellbeing, adult learning, digital media, enterprise and skills, activities for children and young people, large scale community events and many more.
The Aspire partnership competes successfully to win contracts and joint funding bids. We work closely with Leeds City Council, which has given the partnership a lot of support. We also work with public sector organisations like the NHS, membership organisations like Locality, social enterprises, small community groups and the private sector.
Aspire enables members to provide enhanced and smoother progression pathways for local people; to avoid duplication, and share skills and resources. This benefits the communities we work with. It adds significantly to Leeds’ social and economic growth and sustainability. It is a good model for other partnerships.
Partnership work in the past includes a bid to the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund to support and train local people to run local organisations; NHS commissions for a healthy community; increasing social media communications to inform and empower local people; doing our best to ensure welfare benefit changes don’t hurt the poorest people; and services going for older and young people, Black and Ethnic Minority communities and women.
Aspire welcomes approaches from any organisation interested in working with or commissioning us. Contact the Aspire Convenor email@example.com, or any of the partners.
